In the largest of its kind clinical study at the nation’s leading medical centers (Mayo Clinic, Harvard BID, University of Michigan and University of Texas Medical Center) 58% of IBS patients experienced at least a 30% improvement in abdominal pain when they stopped eating the foods identified as positive by the inFoods® IBS test.
The study was designed like a “medication study” with a real control arm. The clinical study divided patients into two groups. One group was given a diet based on their inFoods IBS test results, and the other group was given a fake or placebo diet to follow. None of the patients in either group (or their doctors) knew which group they were randomized to.
The study data is groundbreaking and was recognized with the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Presidential Award at the ACG World Congress in 2022.
Patients on the inFoods diet experienced a remarkable and sustained reduction in abdominal pain. The graph shows the decrease in pain from baseline (start; before diet) over the 8 weeks of the study. A relief of pain can already be seen after 2 weeks and continues to improve through the end of the study.
Patients on the inFoods diet experienced a remarkable and sustained reduction in bloating. The graph shows the decrease in bloating from baseline (start; before diet) over the 8 weeks of the study. Similar to pain, a reduction in bloating can already be seen at 2 weeks and continues though the end of the study.
You are unique, so are your symptoms and your results. Easy-to-understand lab results allow for a targeted and implementable elimination diet.
The inFoods IBS panel only includes foods that were statistically proven (in multiple sets of patients) to be the most impactful for IBS patients. Moreover, each food in the panel has an individual food cut-off value to differentiate between "normal" and “elevated” immune responses to food triggers. inFoods IBS gives clear “Yes or No Results” which is less confusing and easy to understand. The targeted IBS specific food panel allows for a manageable elimination diet and symptom relief is normally observed after 2-4 weeks of diet. (Restriction and timing for reintroduction of foods should be coordinated with your healthcare provider.)
Positive Foods: When compared to patients without IBS, a positive food has an immune response (IgG immunoreactivity) that is ELEVATED above a normal level for this food.
Negative Foods: When compared to patients without IBS, a negative food has an immune response (IgG immunoreactivity) that is at a NORMAL level for this food.
